I guess this is an usual post for this tribe.... but in my mind Kurt Vonnegut was the "Awesomest" author of my childhood and young-adulthood.
Sirens of Titan, Cat's Cradle, Slaughterhouse-Five and more, have helped shaped my perspective not only on this world, but on so many possible others.
Mr. Vonnegut , you will both be missed and cherished for as long as I live.
